In the Aeromedical Repatriation world, we all know, we need medical qualifications in order to safely transport a patient across the world. The level of medical competences required will vary greatly with the pathology presented in our patients, how stable they are, and the chance something will happen during transport. That incident may be medical but also operational.
Medical professionals will have their profession/title-related competences. As for Clinical Aeromedical competences, most will have had their education and training in company. No formal (inter)nationally competences for aeromedical missions have been established, nor certified.
Many (the majority!) of medical professionals will admit that, in retrospect, they were not adequately trained nor prepared for the Aeromedical task they had to perform.
